The Alternative Living Centers provide a safe, structured, drug and alcohol-free environment for individuals seeking a clean and sober way of life. These houses were designed by people in recovery for people seeking recovery. It is ALC's mission to support people in all phases of their addiction treatment. Our services include Masters level LADC ( (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor I), CADC (Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor), Residential Coordinator & Case Management.
We have six buildings in total: five for housing and one for outpatient treatment. As part of the Massachusetts Association for Sober Housing (MASH), we strive to exceed expectations when it comes to structured support. Licensed therapists are on staff to provide addiction outpatient treatment.

What makes Alternative Living Centers right for you?
You can come to our facility after you've been medically stabilized completing a detox or CSS treatment facility. Our welcoming, comforting environment is designed to put clients at ease and help people return to their regular routine in a safe, healthy way. The ALC has developed a commonsense approach to recovery with resident housing and the ALC Day Treatment Program. The IOP Program where everyone can attend either as a resident or from home. All of our ALC IOP programs run 3.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The Pittsfield location offers programs in the mornings and afternoons, while the North Adams location offers morning only programs.
